95oldsVan
This sucks...the a/c fuse inside the panel at the engine bay area, not in the dash area, keeps blowing the 10 fuse.I swapped relays, couldnt get a new diode from anyone yet,and checked the wiring connector at the compressor and still cant find anything wrong. Whats the number one or best educated guess for an a/c fuse blowing like that? Damn things intermittent so it makes it hard to figure out wtf is up. The diode for the a/c,radio hack and the dealers did not carry..dealer says has to order but dont know if that is the problem.Cant find a short or bad wire so far. Mach 5
check your wiring diagram. It could be that its the wrong relay or something is not hooked up right. You could have too much power going to the AC. Or it could be that you installed the wrong fuse. Try a 15. Check a diagram first. You could use a multimeter to check the draw that the AC is pulling. 95oldsVan
Thanks for the reply...gonna have to check the wiring diagram more close and its 96 out there today...I sweat like a pig when in heat like that so it makes it harder to work on cars like that. Anyways, relays is correct...this relay is the same type as the horn relay so I swapped them around and no change. I tried a 15 fuse but that eventually popped too.Going higher is too dangerous and with my luck, gonna melt the wires. Went back to them correct fuse and it lasted a few days then popped again. A/c clutch seems good, isnt hanging up or getting stuck even when the compressor is off...it still can be turned easily by hand. Im guessing the diode is going bad or there is a problem with the wiring somewhere I havent found yet...gonna have to get out the multi-peter and make some checks. Thanks again for the ideas tho...
