firefighter_0029
Does anyone know how to test steering wheel controls? I still have the factory radio in and the steering wheel controls won't work. On my 96 Monte Carlo Z34.
DiscoStudd
Remove the "kick panel" under the dash and look for this connector: This connects the wiring in the clockspring to the "bulkhead" connector via the turn signal switch. Make sure it's connected. If it is, then your next task is to remove the airbag to see if the control buttons themselves are connected to the clockspring wiring: If you need to go further, (or if you need instructions on how to remove the airbag) read my turn-signal switch document: http://tss.likeabigdog.com to get an idea how to get the clockspring out. (Use steps 1 through 16, 18-21, 23, and 28-31 - ignoring the steps on how to get the signal switch out...)
firefighter_0029
Does the Airbag Clip in or is it a T-25 Torx? I can't remember.
DiscoStudd
It's a T-30, but a hex driver will work if you don't have the proper TORX bit ...
firefighter_0029
I did this in my old Monte. What is the resistance it's supposed to be?
