Cruise Control

Hello Everyone,

I am a new guy on the block on the w-body forum. My name is Ben and I am from Barrie, ON Canada. I have a 91 Olds Cutlass International 2dr 3.4. I do a lot of highway driving to and from work, and am a HUGE fan of cruise control. I was driving home from work last Monday and the cc was working just great. Than the next day I tried to set it and it would not work. I checked all fuses and all are fine, I checked the connection at the steering collum, and at the cruise brain and everything was okay. I was wondering if it might be the brain itself :?: :?:

Any information would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks :D

  Yes, now that you mention that, the climate control has not been doing that lately. The weather has changed a lot and it is not changing from lower to upper or defrost. With the Ecc I was just thinking it was keeping everything at a constant temperature, but I have noticed that it has not been working well at all.

Where do you think the vacum leak might be :!:

AH, well I had the vacuum line come loose at just behind the intake. But the common spot that would affect cruise control AND vents would be next to the battery, and if you follow that vacuum line to the front of the fender, there's the black vacuum tank, see if it's broken or disconnected. Good luck

:D Problem Solved!

It was a line that extended from the CC all the way behind the rear of the plug wires. I connected it and the ECC and Cruise work better than ever!

I am suprised that such a small line could cause all those problems

Thanks for all of the advice :!:

yeah that's what I meant by "behind the intake" I disconnected mine a few times when working in that area. Ended up using a touch of black RTV and it hasn't moved since
