soccrplayrgtp Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 hey everyone, as you may or not know I'm doing a 5-speed conversion in my 1994 Blue GP GTP. here is the site for the pics.. Let me know what you think.. http://www.cardomain.com/id/soccrplayrgtp Quote
JS91Z34 Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 The car looks better in one piece than in many. Quote
Robby1870 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Really nice job man. Let us know how that turns out (i.e. 1/4 mile times!!) Robby Quote
soccrplayrgtp Posted April 28, 2003 Author Report Posted April 28, 2003 well to be honest I dont think ill get to track in three weeks. I have my 3 month stall at my shop and I need to do a few things to the ride; I'm gonna do a paint job for sure, ST drop springs and KYB GR-2's for the suspension, performance clutch setup and some engine work for a finish. I hope to be done by mid July Quote
ismellrealbad Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 i thought it wasnt possible to put a 5 speed in a 94-96 gp cuz of the way the interior is setup. i am VERY interested in seeing lots of pics of how this comes out!! u will for sureley have the most unique gp once that is done (and quick!!!) brian89gp Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Not impossible, just a severe PITA compared to a 88-93. All over a stupid clutch pedal mount too, of all things. Quote
soccrplayrgtp Posted May 5, 2003 Author Report Posted May 5, 2003 new pics are up that Biatch comin out too!! Check it out!! http://www.cardomain.com/id/soccrplayrgtp page 7 and 8 Quote
soccrplayrgtp Posted May 5, 2003 Author Report Posted May 5, 2003 you cant tell! hehe shes a 10 footer.. nicks and scratches and spidering of the bumper and side where I was once hit. I might just pant the panels that need it the most and wait til winter to do it all extensively Quote
Redfox340 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 you cant tell! hehe shes a 10 footer.. nicks and scratches and spidering of the bumper and side where I was once hit. I might just pant the panels that need it the most and wait til winter to do it all extensively That's an awesome color... I LOVE THAT BLUE! Hope you keep it like that! - RedFox340 Quote
AWeb80 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Wow, props to you. That looks like a real pain in the ass. Great Goin Quote
RedZMonte Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 what are you doing about the computer? the 1994 DOHC Is MAF based.. the 1991-1993 is maped based... you going to the 1991-1993 PCM? Shane Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 yeah thats a good question cuz I dont think the 94+ PCM will support a manual tranny, but I may be wrong. Converting the DOHC would be a PITA, I imagine, to convert to MAT/IAT and MAP. Good question, Shane. Let us know what you are doing with that, soccrplayrgtp. Robby Quote
90TGP Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 I wish I had the time, money, tools, space, know-how to do a 5-speed swap. Looks good. Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Im sorta planning a 5spd swap this summer, I thought it would be really difficult, but from what I have seen/heard from Maliboulds, its not that bad. Check out Eclipse5302's site on his 5 spd swap. Gives a wonderful how-to of the swap. http://www.turboste.com Robby Quote
The Burning Rom Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 what are you doing about the computer? the 1994 DOHC Is MAF based.. the 1991-1993 is maped based... you going to the 1991-1993 PCM? Shane I doubt there's any GP computer out there that supports the engine that's going in Quote
soccrplayrgtp Posted May 6, 2003 Author Report Posted May 6, 2003 Well I am doing my 94 GTP where manual wasnt even an option anymore for the 94-96 GP's. The other 88-93 swaps are said to be a little easier yes. Check out my new pics from tonight!!! http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=337703&page=9 Quote
