Right by the hood popper. Under the carpet, theres a 'box' with a bunch of wires that run in it, it was basically right there. You have to take the drivers seat out, then the hood popper out then peel back the carpet, open the 'box' and ill see in there ( I duno if anyone else will :lol: )

Taylor tells me its the power door lock relay...and my service manual seems to confirm this.

 

Atleast I know what it is now! But thats one hell of a spot for it...

Yeah... I guess they moved it around a few times. Taylor's is by the convenince center under the passenger side of the dash on both his '88 CS, and '90 STE...but was in the same spot as yours on his '96. :willynilly:

Thats odd, but I guess they probably did it just because of maybe other things that they put into the car so maybe there was more room there?!?

that relay is used for the power locks, BUT is also used for the power seats!

 

it has two bi-directional relays internally. bi-directional as in seat forward or backard fromn the same part of the relay, depending which way it is 'thrown'

 

it sounds like yours is for the power seats. does it click if you operate the power seat???
