99 GTP bad ABS module

my buddy's mom has a 99 GTP. her ABS module is toast. tests bad on the scanner and ABS light is on + traction control is non existant.

 

what years interchange, and is it all W's from those years? i assume it's specific to a car with traction control? dealer wants $1200 for the part only sooooo we're trying to find a cheap(er) alternative(junkyard)

if noonw else knows, I could find out for you friday... The yard I go to has some 97 and up GPs, including the GT (but not GTP)....... I could grab one if you can't find one?

99+ Regals don't have the same ABS system as GP's. Sorry it's not that much help, but it's a start.

Alot of cars after 98 had to be the same car and the same year. I'll find out at work for ya tomarrow.

Is it an ABS 5.3? If so, I have a spare. I know it came from a 98+ Grand Prix but I don't know what year. I was originally going to replace the PM3 in the TGP with it, but I doubt I'd ever bother. $50+ship? It's the entire assembly.

The computer at work says it has to be from a 99- 03 GTP only....We don't have any where I work. We sold the last one last week. I think it's weird you can't get it off of any other W-Body??

I found something else out today on this too. If you buy one brand new out of the box they don't have a warranty on them???

Hey, is there a trick to getting the ABS comptuter to bleed the valves, or do you have to use a factory scan tool?
