White93z34 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 everyone i talk to that has run falkens complain about a short tread life. if it were me, i'd pay more for some good goodyear assurances. then again 200 mounted and ballanced is a prety good proce. Quote
birdman Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 well price is kinda an issue, under 250 with M&B is what im looking for. Quote
rcktmn455 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I have those on my escort. They have some good traction on the course, also they do seem to wear kindof quick, but then again they get the shit beat out of them on the course. Quote
White93z34 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 heres something to consider would it be more worth your time to buy cheeper tires that last 40,000 or better tires that last 70,000 for a little more money? Quote
birdman Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 ya cant spend what ya aint got thats why out of what i can afford i picked these. for the money.... they seemed the best to me. Quote
rudefyet Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 My Falkens have barely worn at all...I've very impressed with the tread life and traction Edit: FYI...that exact size has a 60,000 tread life according to Falken's site Quote
birdman Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 thanks rudefyet, i thought your tires were the same. Quote
slick Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I had a set on a set of 17's once. They weren't that bad, but definately not the greatest. They lasted me from a middle of spring to middle of fall, then a complete next round after winter was over. So, probably only about 25,000 miles or so. Traction was better than whatever tires were on my 16" crosslaces, but I've had better tires. Wet traction, I dunno. They were ok, but not as good, IMO, of a general passenger vehicle tire. Quote
rudefyet Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 yeah, they're sold as all-season, but they're much better suited as a summer tire in dry conditons I plan on putting my old tires back on come winter Mine have almost 20k on them, and rather minimal wear...might be due to the lighter weight of my truck though Also these tires do make a lot of road noise, and ride a bit rougher then most Quote
birdman Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 hmmm, well it'll have to be better than my 4 mismatched tires now and the ones i have on the front are out of round and lose pressure very slowly. id also be able to put the matching rims back on too. Quote
mihela816 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I have them on my Lumina in your size, and I like them. They seem to wear pretty slowly because I wail on them every day. They are pretty good in the rain and awesome when its dry. They are the best tire you can buy in your price range. Quote
birdman Posted June 17, 2006 Author Report Posted June 17, 2006 well i went and got em tuesday and sears did a great job. they didnt break any of my plastic covers and used a toqure wrench on the lug nuts and when they put my old rims in the trunk the even put down plastic!!! i was amazed they didnt treat my car like ass just because it looks bad. i plan on going back for the rear two and an alignment in a few weeks. anyways here are some pisc of the new rubber. my car rides a million percent better now, no shakes and soooo much smoother. 5speedz34 Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Most any real "chain" tire place should do all that. Quote
