Psych0matt
So, I safoamed the crap out of the car today, and what a smoke show it was But, Ive had a hunch since this engine went in that I had a slight exhaust leak (engine just seemed a lot louder inside), and when the seafoam started smoking i got smoke from the rear of the engine bay. would this lead anyone else to believe that there was an exhaust leak on the rear? i still think the timing is a bit off, but its a lot better now, but i dont know how much of a loss i would have if this was in fact an exhaust leak
94CutlassSLCoupe
Could be, when i seafoamed my friend's explorer it always seemed to come out of the throttle body real bad. An exhaust leak between the head and manifold could cause power loss, but not nessesarliy one af the crossover or to the actual exhaust system. slick
Depending on where your exhaust leak is, that could be the reason why you think your timing is off.
AWeb80
I did some seafoam last fall....and then i drove after ward....stopped at a light and saw TONS of smoke pouring outta my engine bay and hood cracks.... I looked and where the DP connects to the exaust, it had leaked there and was smoking every where.....but I don't hear any sound....so i don't know why it got out there.....?
