ssheen Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Here is something I thought some may be interested in. Singh's grooves for the heads. Suppose to help increase power, mileage, and help with detonation amoung other things. I have a couple of friends that have tried it with varing results. http://somender-singh.com One did it on his V8. Gained 21whp, no real mileage increase seen yet. http://www.herningg.com/projects/groovyheads.html Another on his 88 Dodge turbo 2.2. Too soon to know any mileage, but power seems to be up. His EGTs are way down. At idle 800F and 1200F boosting. Before it was 1100F idle and 1550 boosting, which is pretty normal. Though he is only boosting 6psi now while breaking the engine in. His dyno butt o meter figures it pulls as well as it did at 12psi as it now does at 6psi. This with a complete rebuild too though, with a windage tray, ported oil pump holes etc. With 20% bigger injectors he can run at 38psi of fuel pressure. Most others run in the mid 40s for fuel pressure. He will be dynoing it shortly hopefully. Some guys on the speed talk forum run them are seeing quicker 1/4 times and better idle out of their big iron stuff. Quote
slick Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I read about him about 1 year ago in popular mechanics. It is supposed to work pretty damn well from what I read. Quote
ssheen Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 I am doing a head swap in the next few weeks to a head with them for my 88 Daytona. I have been thinking about doing them on the wife's Cutlass. Quote
