Guest Anonymous Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Anyone ever have oil coming out of there oil pressure sensor? My '89 leaks oil real fast. At least a quart a week. My first thought was oil pan gasket. It's dry though. My oil light is on so I unplugged the connector to the sensor to clean it and oil came out. I cleaned all the oil out of it and the next day it was full again. I can't see where any more leaks are. Everything above that sensor looks pretty dry. The dist. O-ring leaks, but it's not leaking that bad. When I park after driving you can watch oil drip off the car where the sensor is. Can oil come through the sensor or am I looking in the wrong spot? Quote
96montyZ34 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 do you mean that it looks like it's coming out through the threads of the pressure sensor? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Not around the threads. It seems to be coming through he inside of the sensor. Quote
Robby1870 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 yeah mine was leaking, although not that much, just got a new one like 7 or 8 bucks, works great now Robby Quote
DOHCRagtopguy Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Sometimes they will spring a leak, just replace the sender and you are good to go. Quote
96montyZ34 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 i think you have tracked down the problem, i would definately change the sensor. you may want to torque it on, as overtightening it could cause a bigger problem. Quote
