Auto Tranny "Sticks"

[2002 GP GT]

Going to look at a 95 GP SE for my daughter today and the owner says the tranny sticks between shifts sometimes.

 

I was thinking maybe a modulator perhaps?

 

It a goergeous car but has 155k :

I would drive it just to see how it feels.

 

Ask about tranny service work done: new fluid, flush, filter if any has every been done.

 

Bring some tools with you and pull the modulator out. I'm not sure what size it is off hand, but if you pull it out and fluid comes with it, that may be your culprit. Also, just check the vacuum lines going to the vac. modulator as well.

As usual, check the fluid level. You wouldn't believe how finnicky these transaxles can be with respect to not working very well if they don't have enough fluid.
