5speedz34
Honestly, I would do it right and get the firewall plate and the pedal bracket...(you have a parts car right?) The only thing is the whole dash has to come off.....it's a bitch.

Guest TurboSedan
looks like you pretty much have everything. what are you going to use for a clutch? i've had no problems at all with the $150 Luk RepSet i put in my Cutlass. even with 325wtq i've never felt it slip once yet. i wouldn't really recommend that clutch for a turbo, but for NA it's great. you don't really have to get the firewall plate. i modified the hole in the firewall plate with a Dremel (on my Cutlass). never have had any problems at all. just be carefull when you cut. cut too much away and you'd be screwed. i'm in the middle of installing a Getrag 282 in my Turbo STE. i swapped the plate out on that car, but mostly because i'm getting rid of PMIII brakes. since i had to swap the plate out anyway i just went and got a vacuum brakes/5-speed firewall plate to make things easier. swapping the plate out is alot of work....you need to remove the booster & master cylinder, remove the steering column and the dash, pull the HVAC box away from the firewall, then swap the plate out. i found it easier to swap the plate out with the pedal/steering column bracket still attatched to the plate. just swap the whole thing out as an assembly. i wouldn't worry about it though, like i said just be carefull when using the Dremel. a tungsten carbide bit & an 18" flexshaft works great...i didn't even remove the master cylinder or booster when i modified mine. oh, i would either get the 3-point dogbone or better yet just get FFP dogbones. the engine will move alot more with the Getrag in there. Guest TurboSedan
i got mine from a local shop. http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01469.JPG http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01471.JPG is this going onto a 2.8 or 3.1? i think the 3.1 has a bigger clutch and the flywheel from a 2.8 won't work on a 3.1 IIRC.
