19Cutlass94 Posted May 30, 2006 Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 GM will only produce a certian car/truck line for so many years. After that the line is either cut or re-designed if you will. ( true for all companies ) At the time of 97-99 Oldsmobile and Buick where really starting to get at each other, and GM probably knew it was going to have to cut one of the lines. But after the '97 production year, Oldsmobile really didnt have too many new models. They did have a '98 cutlass, but that was totally different. Not even the same platform. And I dont' know if I've ever seen a "Oldsmobile Malibu :lol:" in real life either.. they must be kinda rare around here... maybe they didn't even sell them in Canada?
