THe_DeTAiL3R
You should read up and see what brand they are etc. Cheap ones may crack or break after a while. Gen 2 w-bodies have nice breaks anyways... but if yer going real fast I guess...
Cam'ron
if theyre decent quality brakes you cant go wrong with the benifits of drilled and slotted rotors, i am looking into a set of them myself
brianhasadd
He said that they are KVR rotors from http://www.3800performance.com Here's a pic of them.
GP1138
I've heard slotted rotors eat up pads a lot quicker.
brianhasadd
I've heard slotted rotors eat up pads a lot quicker. I've heard the same thing about both types. I think I'm going to buy them and if they do eat up pretty quick, it's only $100 spent.
GP1138
it's only $100 spent. Much richer blood than I, man. My fiance has bitched at me for much less.

jeremy
I don't think you can really go wrong for $100....I say get 'em....then report back here with your opinion
brianhasadd
I don't think you can really go wrong for $100....I say get 'em....then report back here with your opinion Ok. He said that it's going to be about a week or two until he can ship them because he is doing an F-body brake upgrade so I should have them in about a week or two. I'll definitely take some pics and let y'all know how they do. So when I change out the rotors, what all do I need to do? I know that I have to bleed the brakes and take the rotor and caliper off but isn't there more to do?? It seems to easy.
jeremy
you shouldn't have to bleed the brakes to change out rotors....
brianhasadd
you shouldn't have to bleed the brakes to change out rotors.... Oh ok. I've only changed my brakes once and that was a full job.....brake pads, rotors, and calipers. So when putting these new rotors on, all I need to do is take them off of the hub, take the caliper off, and slide the new rotor on?? It's that easy?? Q-Ball
Yes, you only need to bleed the breakes when changing calipers. Cause you have to disconnect the brake line, when lets air into the system. Just hang your calipers with some wire so the lines arent bending or being pulled off.
brianhasadd
Ok thanks y'all. I'm hoping to have them by next week.
GutlessSupreme
Why bother with better rotors? The faster you stop the further you're going to go through the windshield..
brianhasadd
Why bother with better rotors? The faster you stop the further you're going to go through the windshield.. Right. Ok. So what if a little kid walks out in front of me?? I'd rather brake very hard and fly through the windshield than kill a little kid.
19Cutlass94
I dont think his brakes are THAT good. I know none of ours are yeah let us know how it turns out. As of right now Im only thinking of slotted rotors.

Q-Ball
Does being drilled and slottled prevent warping? I might have a brand new rear rotor warping I did hear it does slow down breaking time, is this true? Sorry to jump off track, but I want to know how they work. I might end up doing a brake upgrade on my car.
