Front brake rotors vented or solid?

Got a pair of cheap aftermarket rotors and they are solid, while the ones currently installed are vented. Were the original equipment rotors solid or vented?

I hope the aftermarket manufacturer isn't specifying solid as a replacement for vented, so they can sell them for a lower price than the competition.

Vented.

Do you really want to warp a brand new pair of rotors?

If not, grab the vented ones. It'll help in the long run.

Oops, got a pair of rear rotors. These are non-vented, as they don't have to do much work. Returned them for vented front rotors.

too bad someone doesn't make rear vented rotors for the '94+ W-body. i know the SHO and some rare turbo dodges got them...

from the factory like that. i had my eye on a '91 SHO+ a while back and sure enough the rears were vented. my turbo dodge Lebaron GTS is rare (1 of 267 w/TurboII), but it's got drum brakes in the back :( so it's getting a rear disc conversion someday....

Ah, I see. When he said "both" he meant "2 of 4" (excluding the Lumina).
