TeeJay3800 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 It's been a long time since I've posted here, and I tried searching but didn't find what I was looking for. My 3.1 has a bad hesitation when I get in the gas. Sometimes it hesitates before leaving the line, while other times I'll already be in the gas, but nothing will happen for a few seconds after pushing it down further. It has brand new plugs and wires, and the motor does not "stumble" (or miss), it just doesn't seem like it wants to go. Peak power seems the same as it always has, it just seems like it takes longer to get there. I was thinking I might have a bad TPS...? Any suggestions? Quote
IRONDOG442 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 My vote is TPS too. They are cheap enough around here go buy one and find out. Quote
5speedz34 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Wow, welcome back after a 4 month hiatus........ But I would check your ICM/coils. Quote
greekguy7 Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Clean your throttle body, IAC valve and all those little air passages. Quote
1990lumina Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 My 3.1 was hesiotating off the line to the point where if you punched it, it would alomost stall, then rev up hard....a bottle of injector cleaner solved that problem (though I'm not one for following insructions......it said to use a full bottle on a full tank....f that I used a full bottle on a quarter tank.....fixed me up and it's running perfectly.
