97CuttySupSL
i probbly sound like a idiot but i had no idea where to ask this..i have superchargers down..but what the hell does a blow off valve do for a turbo???
dbtk2
The turbo is pre throttle body. So lets say you're going WOT and you're car is making like 10psi boost. Then you all of the sudden let off the gas and close the throttle plate. There is a lot of air trying to be pushed through that closed throttle body from the turbo. This air has to go somewhere, and thats what the BOV does. It goes in this pipe before the tb somewhere and releases this pressure when you let off the gas. Without one all of the air tries to go back through the front of the turbo which causes compressor surge which is not good for the turbo. Hopefully that helped to clear it up for you.
