sonyman87 Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Ok. my buddy has a 99 monte carlo 3100. he gets 13MPG! we have cleaned the EGR, replaced plugs and wires. the car runs good but just gets bad gas mileage.. the car throws cylendar 2 missfire. possible problems a coil pack, fuel injector, ignition. since the plugs and wires are good. thats leaves the coil pack and fuel injector. Only problem is, the car runs great no power loss anywhere. i checked the voltage to see if its getting enough power. it was at 12.5 volts with the car running. even if you tap the gas it wont go above 12.5 volts. at +2k rpms it will barly get to 13.4 volts. I was thinking maybe the coils wernt getting enough votlage to fire properly at high rpms kicking the code? isnt this suppose to be 14 volts normal? Any ideas what to check next? maybe 02 sensor? any ideas? Quote
