And it's not just jiffy lube, any mechanic might rip you off. In my opinion, know what parts are being replaced (how to tell if they're old, etc.) and check yourself to make sure they did thier job. Or, just watch them, if they're a reputable business, they usually have no trouble letting you watch them work.

besides tire rotations and oil changes are usually the 1st auto maintenance we learn on our vehicles...those places are a rip off period!!! no offense to the people that work for them, I'm only referring to the prices.

Yeah it's so bad I only get my car repaired in an emergency, which has been once so far. Other then that I watch my car pretty well for things going on and do the repairs myself or have my dad do it (he used to have his own shop, an honest one actually).

 

I would joke to my dad when we see this. I would go "hay did you learn those techniques?"
