I went to start my lumina to pull it in the garage, and it took a bit, and then once i got it started i had to hold the gas or it would die. then finally it ran on its own. Yesterday when i went to take off the fuel rail to change some stuff, i went to release the pressure and there was none. related?

does the pump run when you turn the key "on"?

if not I'd check the relay and fuse.

then if those are both bad check to see if there is power at the pump (i think you'll have to drop the tank, can't remember on these cars). If there is power there the pump is bad and needs replaced.

If the pump does run I'd guess pressure regulator or the filter is plugged.

And I assume this is the '93?

When you release the fuel pressure then it would no longer have a fuel pressure. It would be 0 reading. You have to turn the ignition ON again to prime the fuel pump and then you will have your fuel pressure again. If you start and let the engine running then the fuel pressure will drop a bit due to the vacuum being applied.
