0 to 80 vid in the STE.

Been playing with my new digital camera a lot lately and was bored after work so I decided to go out and get some vids of the STE. I'm not running much boost and I'm still having a lot of issues with the car, but I figured I'd post a vid of what its like right now. Then when I get new injectors and more boost and whatnot I'll take more vids.

 

Its not really that fast, takes about 10 seconds to hit 80. But hey, its better than it could be.

Also, its not very great quality (what do you expect for an $80 camera??) but here is a vid of it at idle. Now that the car actually idles down you can hear the cam. Its never idled down since the swap so I'm impressed. :lol:

Some of you TGP guys might also notice how much more intake noise it makes with this topend than a Gen II topend. With this topend the intake is a lot louder than the exhaust. It seems that in the stock topend LG5's there isn't anywhere near the deep intake noise as there is in this car. It makes it almost sound like it has a halfway decent size engine in it.

 

Probably gonna take a vid with 0psi against my roomates Escort ZX2, just because he doesn't think I can beat him N/A.

Wow, wish I could see the speedo, going off sound is hard, it seems like 2nd gear takes forever?

 

If you time 2nd gear its about 7 seconds, give or take. It shifts into 2nd at ~38mph, and shifts into 3rd right at 80mph. I let off pretty much right when it was shifting.

 

Figure 0-38 takes about 3 seconds, again give or take, and you're at around 10 seconds to 80 from a stop. Not too bad for 8psi boost, no tuning, and about 300lbs. worth of useless crap in my car. I'll take some better videos in the day or turn my interior lights on or something. If I had more light it wouldn't be a problem, there is just no light so you can't see anything with the camera. I have some vids I took during the day, but it was a bunch of 35-55 runs and stuff like that, just messing around really, but you can actually see whats going on.

It does sound good though, that thing it quite loud I have decided, definitely a lot louder than my car is inside the interior.

 

That would be cool to get some day shot of a 0-xx or so to watch the speedo and tach. Oh and I thought my boost gauge sucked :lol:

At least your tach isn't 800rpm off like mine is. 6k actual rpms equals 6800 on the tach. :mad: It only has 81k on it, how could it be that far off already!?!? Boost gauge reads like double the actual boost...kinda shitty. Speedo is right though...its like the ONLY gauge that is right though.

 

I'll probably go out later and take some 0-XXX shots in the day that you guys can actually see.

Oh, don't feel bad, my tach is about the same, I have had the tach reading 7000+ before it finally shifted a few times, which is no where near 7000. :rolleyes: My boost gauge reads only 3-4 off as the datalogs show only about 8-10 PSI and the gauge is pegged. The speedo is pretty dead on though :) The temp gauge, well, if it gets much over the 1st or 2nd line I worry.
