TGPilot Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 So is it or isn't it an interferance motor? I have seen so many posts going both ways it is annoying! Either it is or isn't....I need to know please! Quote

5speedz34 Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 91-95 Non-Interference 96-97 Interference But, I have heard of both (91-95) hitting the heads and (96-97) not hitting the the heads. Quote
White93z34 Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 what tony said, thats how its "supposed" to be. Quote

That is what I had thought. And that is the problem...mixed statements of valvetrain contact in either. CRAP! Why can't it be SIMPLE! You damned LQ1 lovers! I have a line on a possible cheap 3.4 car and if it is non-interferance I should do pretty good on the return. Alright..thanks guys Quote
White93z34 Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 best question to ask about it is when the timing belt broke, say they tell you "well i was passing someone on the highway" and that means they were prolly in a higher rpm range so greater change of damage. or "i was sitting at a redlight" and that would indicate probably no damage.
