Was going to the bank earlier today and when I was about to get in my STE I saw this:

Now, I would imagine this happened sometime while the car was sitting in front of my dads house for the last month or so, but can't be sure. This wasn't there when I brought the car over there last time, but its been raining since I picked it up so I haven't had a chance to look at it so I didn't notice it until today. I AM SO DAMN PISSED!!!! (its hard to see in the pics...someone keyed from the middle of the fender to the middle of the front door. When its not raining I should be able to get a better pic)  GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!

Heres a pic of the whole car as I walked away just 'cause I haven't posted pics of this car in years:

dude I know how you freaking feel. Someone hit my back bumper when I had my Malibu and I didn't find out who it was. I hate that crap.

Fucking shit...I hate shit like this...I feel for you man!

How deep is the scratch?? I've found it is easier to fix if it is actually deeper, because touch up paint holds well in deeper scratches...then wet sand it smooth again.....but still shit like this shouldn't happen....

My Lumina gets love tapped every day at school on the rear bumper I think....I used to care...but there's really nothing I can do if I want to drive the car....so I just don't care anymore.

I believe it was said best in the movie Pulp Fiction.

Still got your Malibu?

Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some fucker did the other day?

Lance: What?

Vincent: Fucking keyed it.

Lance: Oh, man, that's fucked up.

Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of shit fucked with it.

Lance: They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.

Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.

Lance: What a fucker!

Vincent: What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.

Lance: You don't do it.

Vincent: It's just against the rules.

The scratch is all the way through the paint in some spots. It is definately WAY too deep to wheel out. I'm sure I can make it look 10 times better with touch up paint and wheeling it, but I shouldn't have to, and it will never look perfect.

It just pisses me off. Why couldn't they fuck up my GT that already needs a front fender and door???

um you sure someone keyed it? it looks like scratchs caused by wear and tear........

I will take a pic when you can actually see it. Since its all wet its kinda hidden, will probably have to wait a while for it to be dry though.

It is a deep scratch (goes down to bare metal in some spots), the width of a key, that is a few feet long. The car has been parked and this scratch isn't from wear and tear, nor could I see how it could be caused from wear and tear. Like I said its hard to see in those pics.

I'll try to dry the car off tomarrow sometime and take some better pics of it.

To try to help you see it, let me tell you where the scratch is, maybe it looks like a reflection to you or something. In the first pic where the lip comes out, the scratch goes along where the lip starts to come out and then it goes down into the lip (the only part that really shows up in the pics). In the pic it only looks like a hair or something. In the second pic you really can't see it at all unless you've seen it on the car, its basically just another pic of the same thing thats in the first pic anyways. The 3rd pic is the most obvious IMO. Go from the top left corner of the STE badge and follow it and it goes all the way to the lip where I pointed it out in the other pic. The last pic shows how it continues after the STE badge, it starts off about an inch above the molding on the door and when the scratch ends its only about a half inch above the molding, it looks like a reflection in the pic.

How deep is it? If it's shallow, it may come out with something like scratch out or some other product.

Keys typically don't scratch that deep, looks like someone got it with a knife or screwdriver. That's pretty bad, almost seems like you were targeted. Piss anyone off lately?

Then again, some people are just assholes who do this kind of shit randomly. People like that don't deserve to live.

Looks like where it's wet, the water hides the scratch. At least in those spots, it hasn't gone through the base coat. You might try thinning some clearcoat and seeing if you can get it in the scratch. Then gently wetsand and buff.

If I ever catch someone doing that, I'd have a head on the wall in my room.

It does seem pretty deep for a key, because usually you can buff out scratches from a key, or at least hide them a bit. I have no idea who would do this since I haven't even lived in that state for 8 months...

When it quits raining I'm going to try a few things to see if I can hide it. It is a lot thinner in some spots than it is in others so I'm pretty sure I can hide some of it at least. The scratch really isn't any more hidden in the rain then it is when its dry, it just looks hidden more in the pics, I'm thinking because of the reflection of the water or something...not quite sure. The scratch is still plenty obvious when its wet.

I took some other pics of it where it shows up better but photobucket is being gay right now so i'll have to wait until later to post them.

Ya, that's why there is a club that is under the seat of my car. A beater club, around 5lbs. Almost used it a couple times.......

What's this??? Shit dude!! Happen recently?

My Lumina's been keyed at school last year I think....not deep at all, and on the right door (which is fubared anyway) so I didn't really care. I't s also had a McFlurry thrown at it, a can of coke (luckily didn't dent the car), and I park it under a tree that regularirly sprayes sap and shit...so far regular waxing has saved the paint from damage....a couple of those things (coke and mcflurry) I got pay back on :D
