roscoepcoaltrain Posted May 11, 2006 Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 Hey all quick question does anyone have or have had a problem with a power window going down but then not going back up ... after a few tries it does go back up. nut it is frustrating going through a drive through in the rain... is the motor going out or is it a switch issue? firefighter_0029 Posted May 11, 2006 Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 My 95 did the same thing. Always seemed to happen right after I put the money into the Automatic Car Wash. I beat the hell out of the Door panel and it would go back up. Never happend again after I changed the switch. I think it has something to do with the auto down part of it or something. WhiteMonteZZZ Posted May 13, 2006 Report Share Posted May 13, 2006 The 96-99 Montes had a 2nd design switch. The 95s had the first design. Primarily, on the 95s this is a problem - thus the redesigned switch. But, over at Mymonte.com, we've heard of this happening w/the latter switches too. We concluded that the Auto Down feature doesn't always "release" - thus the switch is still telling the window to go down when you're trying to put it up. My 95 had this problem and, yes, "beating the hell out of the door panel" worked for a while. Though it didn't work in a rainstorm until the 4 letter words came out.
