about a week ago i installed an ammeter inline with my power wire running back to my amp, just thought it would be cool to see how much current this amp really draws and most of the time it draws 30-35 amps, not bad  any ways heres a crappy video taken from a cell phone. http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e15/cuttlass/?action=view&current=Video_0003.flv

What kind of amp is it? Each amp draws a different amount of current based on its power rating and class/efficiency. I have tested my two amp system and combined at max draw I saw 90 amps. I could have gone further but I didnt want to clip the signal thereby potentially damaging the subs and speakers.

The amp I have, the max current draw is 140 amps, but I doubt it will ever see that much. Once I get all the test tones and such that I need, maybe Ill figure out what mine is drawing.

is a small amp its a jbl gtq200 4 channel  not that great heres a pichttp://guytoys.net/jbl/jdl3.jpg

Wow...thats a pretty old school amp...lol

But the fuse in tha amp is rated for 30 amps so what you are seeing is probably the most draw you are going to see from that amp....unless something goes wrong.
