bigdman
about a week ago i installed an ammeter inline with my power wire running back to my amp, just thought it would be cool to see how much current this amp really draws and most of the time it draws 30-35 amps, not bad any ways heres a crappy video taken from a cell phone. http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e15/cuttlass/?action=view¤t=Video_0003.flv
19Cutlass94
30-35 amp draw? Must be a small amplifier. ( sorry but I didnt view the video, simply because 56k says it all )
Supreme Cutlass
I might try using a digital guage just for accuracy.. how many amps should you be running?
Puggsley456
What kind of amp is it? Each amp draws a different amount of current based on its power rating and class/efficiency. I have tested my two amp system and combined at max draw I saw 90 amps. I could have gone further but I didnt want to clip the signal thereby potentially damaging the subs and speakers. 19Cutlass94
The amp I have, the max current draw is 140 amps, but I doubt it will ever see that much. Once I get all the test tones and such that I need, maybe Ill figure out what mine is drawing.
