Valve cover gasket

I wanted to check my valve clearances tomorrow to see if i can find the taping, I was wondering do i need new valve cover gaskets?? If its anything like my ricemobile then they are rubber and should not be reuse, but if cleaned up right can be with il leaking out later

3800? If so, they are rubber. A new set is still less than 20 bucks, though...

yeah its the 3800, thanks I will pull them and see the condition, and replace if needed. Now i just need to vind valve specs.....hi ho hi ho its off to search i go

If they've never been replaced before, go for it. I know I'll probably never change the valve cover gaskets on my 3.1s again though. they just don't tend to leak on those motors. I just did it to be safe because of their age. I can't speak for the 3800 though.

Nearly ever 60* motor I've seen leaks from the valve cover.

My valve covers were worse than that....i need to clean the engine bad....let just say when i got the car I thought it had black vlave covers, and yesterday i found out diffrent
