IO_303 Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 I was looking at some of the members rides and noticed that all the engines had 2 top mounts, and on mine I only have one on the right side. Am i missing one ore did the 3800 Series 1 only come with one top mount. This is on a 95 Regal Quote
DiscoStudd Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 The W-Bodies (Regals) that had the Series 1 3800 (L27) only had one "dogbone" upper mount, so no you aren't missing one. One thing the L27 Regals didn't have were the "support braces" running from the header panel to the strut towers. I added a set to my Regal, but had to run a tap through the bolt holes, 'cause they weren't threaded from the factory... Quote
IO_303 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 i am guewssing the holes to the left of the motor is for the second brace. I managed to get my hands on a L67 and am now researching the swap. I love free stuff Quote

Yep i have a freind whos dad owns a junkyard and a GTP came in and noone touched the gngine so he was about to crush the car and asked me if i needed anything, so i grabed the engine, but the tranny housing was cracked from the wreck so i left that. I am guessing it was left alone beacuse the fenders were folded all over the place. We had to cut the engine out of there. It looks good, I am going to find a tranny and a starter and run a compression test. Quote
IO_303 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 I never realized how profitable running a junk yard is. The land is cheap, not much on power or water needs. You buy the cars for 100-200 then sell a bunch of parts making ~500 per car (depending on damage) then you sell the scrap for 200+ Quote

I would also think it's profitable but dealing with the wast problem I dunno. Quote
