So I finally got around to test fitting my rims, and i have to say im pleased. the rears clear the calipers with tons of room, even without the spacer, except without the spacer they get very close to that support (see the last two pics) The front rubs the caliper a bit, but i think the scenario now is to get longer studs all around, move the rear spacers up front (i think they're 5/8) and get some slightly thicker ones for the rear. gimme suggestions or opinions

Gonna look tits.. And where is that olds symbol? :willynilly:

I cant give any objections or opinions as I haven't dealt with spacers and bigger rims...

Yet...

those are going to kick ass....like you said, if you use spacers, get the longer studs :thumb:

what is that support thing? i don't want to be too close to it. It's like almost touching without the spacer, but has a little more than half inch probably with the spacer. i just don;t want to risk wheel rubbing on it or something

if it is half an inch w/o rubber on there the rubber will most likey rub, not necessarily straight line but in corners for sure... need some spacers dood, if anything just to be safe

BTW those wheels are freakin hawt

what is that support thing?

I assume that your talking about the trailing arm

yeah, thats what Im talking about, and that's what I thought it was, but wasnt sure. I think if i get spacers of about 7/8 i should be good, maybe1 inchers (as long as it doesnt stick out way too much. I think with these wheels and tires itll look about perfect at that setup

Those look familiar.....LOL

I can't wait to fit my F1's

Are those 18"s?

Posted

I have a 5mm spacer on my 18" and they already stick out a bit more on the front than I'd like. 7/8" or 1" spacer, yikes!

I would probably upgrade to 96 front knuckles and shave a bit off the caliper brackets to minimize the spacer.

How did you find the guy to bore out your wheels? What did you look up in the phone book?

$40 vs. the $120 I was quoted is a big difference.

I literally googled "machine shop" for my area, made about 16 phone calls, and had about half the places referench me to other people. i finally found one place that gave me like 3 different numbers of individuals, and I lucked out on finding a guy that would do it. Great guy, and he had the nicest garage I've seen in a while...

What kind of business does he run? Still got his info? Maybe it would be cheaper for me to ship my wheels out to him!!!

he just has a bunch of equipment and does his own thing I think. If you want his info pm me, i have his number somewhere still

Bro, You should come check out my garage.

I am looking around for 96 front knuckles and rear calipers, maybe we should team up, I know a place that has some. 120 per knuckle and 75 for the rears.
