z34_nut Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I'm 90% sure my VSS is toast now. My speedo read zero, and my DIC says zero, and my cruise control doesn't work anymore. So this is my question, where can I get one, and how hard is it to do? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 it "should" be really easy if it's like the 282. just unplug it and remove one 10mm bolt holding down the VSS clamp-thing then pull it right out. you'll probably have to access it from bottom of the car. Quote
z34_nut Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Yeah, I can see it, and it doesn't seem to be a problem to get at, how-ever is the price up there with a 4t60e VSS? I've seen prices on those, and I nearly shit myself. Quote
ToroToro Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 The VSS for my '92 Toro was about 50 bucks IIRC...not too bad. Looks like the 5 speed ones are about 100 bucks at partsamerica...time to go to the junkyard and steal one. Quote

z34_nut Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Posted May 1, 2006 282, and 284 VSS's are different correct? I mean different gearing and such... there are plenty of junkyards around here, if I find another 284, I might just yank it just to have one. Quote
