Huh? from your sig you say you have a ubend delete and K&N filter and exhaust. your post talks as if you didnt have those mods.... any how... well im not up on all the stuff with the 3400 on the new montes, but here is what i say you do. -I say YES to a FWI. or stick with the factory box with a drop in. (if your going to do a new PCM then you might as well do a FWI while you have it all apart. i have a writeup on how to do it very inexpensivly on my WWW link below... just go to page 6. -if you dont have the Ubend delete DO IT. it is a major restriction to exhaust flow. also if your state doesnt require emitions testing go for a high flow cat. normally between 70-150. -im assuming from your sig you have exhaust done.. if not do it. -from the vid your Low track lite poped on. you need to better control your right foot. you were spining too much. better throtle control and WIDER tires are your best friend to low 0-60 times. also incorrect tire pressure can also reduce your tires performance. go here for how to make sure your tires are at the right PSI and forget the GM recomendations. http://mymonte.com/home/content/view/126/26/ -Poly engine mounts help to hold the engine steady between shifts. this gives more tq to the ground. tq is good! -New PCM like the DHP will help too or buy the DHP Power tunner and you can make more changes in the future. -if you do all that then go on to suspension eibach's are not just for looks they improve/firm up handling and keep the car from squatting as much on launch. -once your get your engine modded a good bit turn your attention to the trany. a good shift kit and High stall Torque converter will help greatly but you will also need widder tires to make use of a high stall converter to its potential. well i hope this helps you get started PM me if you have more questions. Cam'ron Posted April 26, 2006 Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 thanks for the input... about the ubend i jumped the gun on adding it, it was supposed to be done last weekend but something came up and i wasnt able to make it in, i am going in this saturday Quote
fastbird232 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Holy crap, look at that thing! That's an OBDII affliction because of the oxygen sensor, right? Quote
Euro Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 ahh i didnt know that was the u-bend either, i was thinking of something totally different Quote
Cam'ron Posted April 27, 2006 Author Report Posted April 27, 2006 any guesses on HP gains from a ubend delete? i have no clue, dont figure it to be much maybe 5 tops but that might be pushing it. have the parts for the FWI right here beside me i just have to find the smaller k&n filter so it fits without any real modification to the fender supports... everywhere has the 6"base 7-8"long filter i would like to find the 4" base non tapered 6-7" long filterso it fits in there real nice. engine mounts would be nice, plus they would add a bit of dress up to the engine, how much would i be lookin for those. and rims/tires will be waiting till next winter when i am making a bunch more cash at work... (prolly 17" but maybe 18" casinos and some 245's) Quote
z34Phoenix Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 i personally think that the HP gain would be atleast 5 hp if not more... that ubend is a serious block in exhaust flow especially if you have after market mufflers or a full cat back system. Quote
Cam'ron Posted April 29, 2006 Author Report Posted April 29, 2006 ok the ubend is gone and wow... more off the line and it pulls harder top end, i love it. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 I'd say your ass dyno is a little off. U-bend removal makes you LOOSE bottom end, not gain it. Quote
Cam'ron Posted April 29, 2006 Author Report Posted April 29, 2006 seems to have more prolly just me though Quote
