zoideraserb Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Ok, a friend of mine has a regal, i don't know what year (1994 maybe) but it has a 1st gen 3.8 in it and the belt had broke and wrapped around the pulley and bent the blades in and took out the cps.. well he put a new cps and tansioner pulley on, well he checked to make sure the blades were the same on the new pulley as the old one and they do match (minus the bending lol), but it still doesn't run.. i thought that you had to adjust the cps? but there isn't a way to that i can see. so if anyone knows what to do he'd appreciate it lol.. thanx 'Brandon Quote
DiscoStudd Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 They sell (or possibly rent AFAIK) a special tool that aligns the Crank Sensor. Might want to check into that Start with your local auto parts store and if they don't have it, the parts department at your nearest GM dealership should... Quote
firefighter_0029 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Is his motor black on top? A 94 should be you don't have to adjust a 93 and up 3800. But from 90-92 you had to use a feeler guage to adjust the Sensor away from the fins on the pulley. Quote

I was told by a shop that you needed a special tool to adjust the sensor. So I let the shop fix it. I found out about a year later that the sensor was indeed non-adjustable. yay. Quote
zoideraserb Posted May 7, 2006 Author Report Posted May 7, 2006 i don't know what year it is exacly, i just know that i can't see anyway to adjust it. But it still won't start.. so what could it be? Quote
firefighter_0029 Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Are the fins hitting the new sensor or not? Quote
