someone PLEASE tell me, WHY did GM make the bearings non-serviceable? the hubs themselves NEVER go bad, only the bearings inside them do...therefore they should have designed them so you can take them out and replace them for maybe $3.00 tops      :bash: :flamingdevil: :cussing: :gr_mad:

Only one reason they are designed as a sealed assembly. It is to control the quality of the grease used and to keep water, road salt, etc.... from getting to the bearings. One of the engineers I work with was here at Delphi Chassis when they designed them. It makes sense as far as quality control but the problem is like you guys said price and throwing all of the shit into the dump when there is nothing wrong with the hub itself, just the bearings.

why do tie rods come with new hardware?

Yeah, good question, but its one nut compared to 4 bolts. I don't know, I guess maybe since I replaced hubs I think that way. Are you worried they are going to break off like that GP at PartsGalore?
