19Cutlass94
as many of you may know I replaced the upper, lower intake gaskets, thermostat, gasket and IAC on my car about a week ago. I dont know what happened or if my car was just running that bad, but now it seems like it actually has balls ( haha yes I know 3100 have balls ) but it feels so much faster than before, and feels like it has more power. What could the problem have been before? And another thing, ever since doing this, Ive noticed its been running a little bit warmer than before. Im not loosing coolant at all ( Thank God ) and I dont have any leaks, so its probably an air bubble somewhere in the system correct? If so, is it possible that an air bubble would work itself out? sl3196
I'd try bleeding the system again.
5speedz34
Air bubbles should work themselves out eventually. I would just try to bleed it again.
THe_DeTAiL3R
I've had a fucking air bubble in mine since I did the LIM back at Christmas time. I bled it several times but the needles still goes from 1/3rd to almost half then back down.. oh well it's not hurting anything. Maybe it will go away next time I flush the rad. I'm not loosing any coolant either. I dunno about your power gain.. that's cool though LOL
19Cutlass94
yeah I guess Ill try to bleed it, but then again, the temp needle doesnt move to awful far from the 200 bar so I duno. I guess its one of those things to do when I have the time. But yeah CBAD, I was sitting at a light trying to make a left, and I saw a spot, and its one of those things where you gotta kinda step into it to make it ya know..... well I saw the tach at 2500 and I just smoked em around the corner. I was by no means trying to do that, and its never happened before. But yeah its odd the car has more balls...

19Cutlass94
Well it seems to drive with alot more balls than it ever had ( for the 3 yrs Ive been driving it ) glad to hear you're runnin better now so you can quit the bitching about driving up to my house! THe_DeTAiL3R
Wish I had a 3800... I hate this engine. I hate even more that a Buick Century has more power (175hp) and would probably beat my car. At least my old 2.8 sounded cool when I drove the piss out of it. White93z34
one method that seems to work good for me getting air out of systems is to let the car run with the cap off the radiator and add coolant as the bubbles come to the top. 19Cutlass94
Normally when I bleed the the system, I fill what I can with coolant with the air valves closed, then I open one, and pour in coolant until it starts to come out, and then I do the same with the other bleeder. But Ill have to give that a try!

The first time you crank it up on an onramp or even passing on the highway, you smile. It's a decent upgrade.
