Psych0matt Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 doesnt look too bad. looks comfortable, thats for sure Quote
stockgp Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 wow, tha'ts actually a killer idea. i've been holding on to my old gray rear buckets in hopes that i would one day have enough to get them recovered in charcoal leather. now maybe i'll just find a spare set of seats and do what you did. great job Quote
RedGTP Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 the look is very nice !! when my interior will finish .. I will put new pics Quote
jeremy Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I have to respect the idea, but the leather needs to be much much tighter for them to look good Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I have to respect the idea, but the leather needs to be much much tighter for them to look good I agree, but i think that's part of the reason they look so comfortable! Quote
RedGTP Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 I have to respect the idea, but the leather needs to be much much tighter for them to look good I know .. but it's not the same 'mould' of leather and fabric ... dont fit very good .. It's tighten much I can ... but it's good !! Quote
ToroToro Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Crafty! Looks good. It's about the only option for anyone who wants rear buckets that match the 94+ seat patterns/materials... Quote
jeremy Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 It's about the only option for anyone who wants rear buckets that match the 94+ seat patterns/materials... IIRC: you could get rear buckets in '94 verts..... Quote
ToroToro Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Yeah, but we are talking grand prixs here...they changed the seat "style" and fabric in '94, and they stopped offering rear buckets. So no 88-93 GP rear buckets will match completely with the 94-96 fronts. The '94 Cutlass used the same fabric as the 92-93, and the leather was the same for 92-97. 95-97 CS cloth was different though. Quote
RedGTP Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 it's the same fabric/leather of my front seat .... I take the leather in a front seat of GTP 1995 and I have the same in my GTP 1994 Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 i think that's a great idea. It turned out pretty well too. Nice work! Quote
Crazy K Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 I have to respect the idea, but the leather needs to be much much tighter for them to look good I know .. but it's not the same 'mould' of leather and fabric ... dont fit very good .. It's tighten much I can ... but it's good !! nice job! leather tends to shrink and get stiffer when it gets wet. how about soaking the seat and allowing the leather to tighten? then let it sit for a while in the sun to dry perhaps? RedGTP Posted April 24, 2006 Author Report Posted April 24, 2006 humm may-be ... I will check it when the temperature was more 'hot' i'Ts cold .. Quote
fastbird232 Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Always thought about doing that. Loose leather or not, it's a one-of-a-kind! Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 GTP_Munky now has my old 88 GP SE rear buckets and console. Interesting how they actually fit... the back piece fits over only 1 of the 2 loops, but that is good enough, cause it bolts down to the 2 bolts. Then the bottem piece the nut goes through the "latch" thing... so it all fits. He's gonna do something with the fabric (red/black I dunno) so it will be interesting to see what he does with them. I want his old leather!!! LOL Quote
RedGTP Posted April 25, 2006 Author Report Posted April 25, 2006 lol it's cool I was restart my manuel swap this weekend ... Quote
