What should I do for a tail panel?

  1. 1. What should I do for a tail panel?

    • Stock Aqua-green thing like the other million I see each day..
    • A black International tail panel

Okay guys, my talk panel on my 94 just "fell off"..

I need a new one, obviosuly, but I am wondering what to do here.. I can get a 92-7 sedan panel in the same color (after paint of course) and slap it on..

Another idea I had was to get a black one from a 92 International.. I like the look they give the 92 sedans.. At that point, I then wpould wondr if converting it to an Int'l would be a neat idea.. I have a shit ton of badges from Various Int'ls I've run across.. I have a poll on this so voting can take place.. COmments are also welcome.. Here is a rear "control shot" for you guys:

I'd vote for the full 90-91 style rear end. I like them a lot better.

But otherwise I'll go for the black rear end. It isn't an International thing though, BTW. All '92s had a black panel with a silver badge.

I think if you found a panel from a black '93-'97, that would look even better since the rocket is red like yours now. Just some ideas...

I say add the I series badges too. What the hell, you got the STE seats coming. ( or dont you? )

Steve you may be in luck. The last time I was in my yard (2 wks ago), there was a '93+ 4dr Cutty in your color blue. I have no idea the next time I'm going back, but if its still there I'll grab it if you want it. I can't remember if the reflective material was falling apart or not though...

EDIT: btw it took me like 3 months to find a white one, and BrianP shipped it to me. So you might have to be patient with this item.

I'm not lookin to pick one up from a member and wait for it.. Cutty sedans are plentiful here (2 of which in my Aquamist thing).. I am simply asking if I should stick with this color, or get a black one.. Either way, I am not afraid to paint it..

You're lucky! I wish I had a situation similar to that when I needed one. Definately stick to the body color. IMO, the black panel sucks...I've never liked it.

erg... and I firmly believe anybody with an '88-'91 CS should change to the newer tail lights/center applique pronto  I think the old style is enormously cheap/shitty looking, coupe or sedan :\

But yes, pretty sure all '92s had the black panel. Mine does, and it's definetly not an International. I dunno how it would look on your car, but I think it looks awesome on the white cars. better than having the white panel anyway.

Okay, I pulled all the studs out of the trnk (Were acting as water plugs the last week or so) and I remembered I had this super weld shit from 3M.. Lemme say, it worked WONDERFULLY.. I set it with this epoxy-like crap, and about a half hour later, the bolts were stuck FIRM to the panel.. I'll have some pics up soon, of the car without the panel (Night pics) and of the freshly cleaned car from this afternoon as quickly as I can.. (The pics are on a camera not with me right now..) THanks to all who voted.. I saw an Aqua thing like mine, but it had the blck tail panel.. Looked sweet to me..[br]Posted on: April 18, 2006, 11:24:34 PM_________________________________________________BEFORE  :

I'm glad the 3M epoxy shit worked as well as it did.. Trying to break the studs off, is like trying to push a mountain over.. :willynilly:
