Papajoe417
I have a gm 3.1 mpfi gen 2 motor in my 90 grand prix, about 5 yeaes ago ive done extensive work to it ( bored 60 over, stroker kit, oversized pistons, camshaft, heads, intake manifold, valves, throttle body, whole fuel system. Problem im having is car started up fine this morning it idled alittle rough and has a little misfire to it but as soon as i touch the gas it stalls out. Last month i put whole new ignition system on ( plugs, wires, coil packs and ignition module). I also did fuel injectors and pressure regulator on the fuel rail. The only problem and codes i have is for my catalytic convertor. Its all broken internally and it is leaking fumes out. Can that be the whole problem? Im lost on what else it can be. Timing chain and sprockets are only 2 years old and ive only driven maybe 10k miles in the past 2 years.

You should get a manga flow high flow cat to replace your busted one. If that wasn’t an issue I’d say your problem sounds like a fuel shortage. Have you tested the pressure? Maybe the fuel filter is plugged up that is usually a more gradual onset problem though so hope it’s the cat. You need a new one anyway. You should start a new thread for this in new members section. And tell us more about your car while your at it.. Edited August 30, 2021 by GTP091
