The spoiler mounts on my GTP are screwed up beyond repair (I've tried). You can't really tell from far away, but up close there's a small gap that drives me insane. With the car getting painted this summer, I have an opporunity to take it off and fill the holes. Question is, will it look like shit?

Thoughts, opinions, pictures, arguments?

I can say it definetly won't look like shit. I still haven't decided myself if I prefer it with the stock spoiler or not.

I like the way they look with the spoiler. But even if you fill the holes it'd probably look good.

It looks good either way. But filling the holes would be the hardest part, and if you dont feel like doing that and getting that perfect, Id say leave the spoiler on.

My 94 looked awesome without the spoiler. But, I think you could probably only pull that off if your vehicle is white. Otherwise, just paint her up, and put it back on.

Who wants to see my bare ass?

I wanna know how you took the spoiler off.

I'm leaning towards no spoiler. I mean, it vibrates slightly at highway speed, and since it's largely non-functional (I could live without that third brake light), I think removing it would at least clean up the lines a little bit.

a bare ass on a car really depends on color and the shape of the trunklid, the right color GP can pull it off but ohhh lets say a ummm white 2003 monte carlo just doesnt look right without the spoiler (its on my list)

black would look great w/o spolier... are you tinted? if so hell yeah go bald

I've always thought the GP rear end looked really weak without a spoiler, the angle of the rear end just isn't very tough looking. I like the rear ends of the CS, Lumi and Regal better, more straight up and down, stronger looking. Hard to explain, but that's just my thoughts.

I know what you mean about the ass end being a little weak. It's got body cladding all over it to bulge it out, then there'd be nothing on the trunk (the only part of the car without plastic stuck to it).

However, my actual spoiler is a little too FUBARed to leave on, so off it will come this summer. I'm tearing absolutely everything off the car (interior included), de-rusting it, and re-attaching everything correctly (whatever hick body shop that repainted it before I got it did the biggest hack job I've ever seen).

If anyone wants a usable black spoiler, check back later this summer.
