Um...Autozone should be able to order them. :? If not, you can always get a 180 for something else and grind it down. :D That's what I did when I put a 160 in my GT. :D

I called around EVERYWHERE looking for one... no one even has a part number. hypertech.com has them though. Pretty sure they're for the 3100, are you having problems keeping your engine cool? I.E, at stop you're temp shoots way up?

I know mine shoots way up when at a stop. I am used to them pretty much staying put, but the Olds just jets up there. now, I have never had a cooling problem. The fans turn on, and even with ultra hot 90 degree days, sitting in traffic, it never overheats, just looks bad. I don't think he gauges are all that accurate. I had that problem on my 91 Z28 as well, it just shot up to 220 like a rocket at a stop, but it never boiled over or showed signs of over heating.

So, how can we adjust the gagues? I know when I had my car in for a headgasket repair, they messed around with it because they said it was reading wrong. Will I have to take it back in to get this fixed too?

I put the 160 in my 3.8 GT. Then I ran it in my 75* garage...first at idle for 10 mins, and then at around 3,500 RPMS for another 15mins before the T-stat opened up. The gauge never got more than 1 bar above 160. I'm going to take it back out later this summer and drill it, that should make it even better. :D

If the guage is bothering you that bad you can get a replacement from the dealer or through a boneyard. Mine doesn't read accurately but I just ignore it. :) :)

I got a 180 degree for my Z34 through Autozone. Its a hypertech brand, I had to go to Autozone and have them special order it, the guy told me over the phone that they didn't have it and it couldn't be ordered but when I was there in person they had no problem ordering one. Make sure you look at the screen of there computer, it will be listed at the very bottom. Mine cost me $15 and it works great.
