mfewtrail
What are you using to siphon out the fluid with? If you aren't using a pump, you may want to pick up one of those $10 siphon pumps at walmart, k-mart, etc.(most automotive stores have cheap ones too). Also, did you check the fluid level properly with the transaxle up to operating temperature?
CutlassSL91
yes the fluid was checked propery, and is definatley overfilled. i added a quart or soo too much I think and its been like that for a few weeks, but hasn't been driven a whole lot. they make pumps for that? This is the type of pump I'm referring to. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SIPHON-PUMP-KIT-TRANSFER-WATER-GAS-OIL-FLUID-AIR_W0QQitemZ4451800409QQcategoryZ303QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The hoses that come with them should be right about the size of the trans dipstick holder, slip it over and it will suck out more than enough to get you back down to the proper fill level. Those pumps are handy for plenty of other automotive jobs as well.
CutlassSL91
so you can buy these things at wal-mart?
Turbo231
You can get perfect sized ones at walmart...about 3 bucks. They are in the automotive section.
CutlassSL91
found them, thanks a lot!
THe_DeTAiL3R
I used that EXACT siphen hose to suck out tranny fluid, cause I change some of it often and I don't feel like dropping the pan. I can get like 2-3qts out.
96mcls
why not try a few feet of hose and use your windshield fluid pump to pump it out. or you could just disconnect one of the lines to the trans cooler
THe_DeTAiL3R
This way is the easiest and cleanest. Stick tube down hole, other tube in a coke bottle (or whatever), pump and yer done.
SleeperRed90TGp
If it's a 4t60 ( don't know about an E tranny) just leave the extra fluid in it. There was a bulletin out years ago that says add 3 qt after the full line. I have been doing that for ten years. If it's too full it will just spit it out. Kinda messy. WhiteMonteZZZ
3qt? Uhh...i thought i read it was like 3/4 (three-quarters) qt extra.

IIRC on the dipstick on my car it says add 0.5L (something like 3/4 qt) when it's below the full line...
