Olds dealer shows this as discontinued, Duplicolor and Plastikote don't list either. Is there an equivalent color code, or will I have to get a paint shop to custom-blend? Quote

GnatGoSplat Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Yep, same as mine (the car at the top of the page). A paint shop was able to find the color in PPG brand. It's a little brighter orangish, but hard to tell. I was told when these cars fade, they fade to a deeper red, that's why brand new paint in that color has a more orangish appearance. BUT a paint shop should be able to get the right color, or custom mix it for you. Quote
88Intl Posted September 27, 2002 Author Report Posted September 27, 2002 Several panels were repainted at one time and are slightly orangy compared to the rest of the car. Is the PPG color a standard off-the-shelf color? You wouldnt happen to have the color code? Quote
