JakeMetz63
Were they still using 4t60es? 65 or 65hd? I have the 97 Lq1 in my 94 GTP and my tranny is acting "funny". Would the 4t65 match up to my engine perfect? Would i need to get a computer from a 97 if i was to swap this in? This summer im either getting a motorcycle or doing something special to the GTP, and I really need a tranny that can handle some more power than the 4t60e. chadz34
In 1997, it was NOT the 4T60-E. ''1997 Chevrolet Lumina/Monte Carlo: All models gained daytime running lights, and a sporty new Lumina LTZ sedan arrived during 1997. The LTZ included unique front and rear fascias, a rear spoiler, and alloy wheels, with the 3.4-liter dual-cam engine as an option. The V6 was no longer available in the Lumina LS. A new automatic transmission, used with the 3.4-liter engine, promised smoother, more prompt shifts.'' - Consumer Guide.
slick
You could run the trans from the 97's, along with the ECU, but, you will have to swap the engine harness over as well. This will yield you the obd 2 conversion, which is much better than obd1.
