Psych0matt Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I want to see some pics of the coilpack location on the later LQ1's. I was thinking they were on the support brace, but now that i think about it (saw a pic or two) i realize that that wouldn't work, and I have no idea now how they mount. Reason I ask is because my mechanic that's putting the engine in is doing the relocation (figured it'd be better to have him do it so he could do it with the engine in, as opposed to me mounting them somewhere with the engine out, and later finding out its in the way) Quote
5speedz34 Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Yah, there is a support brace. Two actually. One that goes on the front of the plastic timing belt cover, and one that is on the engine hoist mount. And there is more at this link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8051263651&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting Quote
Psych0matt Posted March 28, 2006 Author Report Posted March 28, 2006 i bet that's what he (my mechanic) was talking about when he was going to relocate my coils for me. grr, thats why i told him just to mount them on the front. :-/ hrmm, what to do, what to do... Quote
99RegalGS Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 You can't relocate the coils to that exact spot on your engine. The 91-95 UIM has the map sensor and vacuum ports right there so that's a no go. Quote
