PLEASE HELP..HOW DO I REMOVE HEADS UP FROM A 1990 TURBO GRAND PRIX?

Hey, I noticed a 1990 TGP at a "U-PULL-IT" junkyard near my town.....And I need to know how I can GET the heads-up out of the car?

Is it difficult...I don't want to just 'yank' it out, and risk breaking something, you know?

Also, I'll need the new piece (where you can adjust the dimmer and control everything)...

How does THAT come out?

THANKS SO MUCH!

A lot of you are VERY knowledgable and I appreciate your help! thanks !

Remove...Throtle body and upper intake manifold, then the fuel rails, then the valve covers, then the LIM, remove head bolts and hit the head in a sideways motion with a shot peen hammer.

Controls...look for two screws and remove.

unbolt what you want and then pull it off...

Its really not that complicated. Pull the valve covers off, then the upper intake, fuel rails, then lower intake, then heads. Then obviously you'll want the exhaust manifolds and crossover, the turbo, the piping from the turbo, and the intercooler. You'll also want to pull the chip out of the ECM or just take the ECM altogether.

I think he means the HUD. Remove the two Phillips screws in the top of the instument cluster.

Then find the screw above the glove box liner & remove that. Best to remove the glove box

liner to get to it if you have never done before but you can get it without pulling the box.

Remove the dash pad by pulling up on the front of it(it's clipped in). After that pops up, pull the

dash pad towards you & disconnect the wiring. For someone who has done it before it takes

less than 5 minutes.[br]Posted on: March 27, 2006, 08:11:30 PM_________________________________________________

I assume you don't mean the dimmer because it is part of the headlamp switch. If you are referring

to the slider on the right side of the Head Up Display unit then that whole assy comes out by removing

screws from underneath you can get to after the dash pad is out. Take the whole HUD assy with the slider

from the junk yard.

you mean there isn't a dimmer switch on the heads on the engine???

Its always fun to give people a hard time.

Someone else answered the question completely so hes fine now. Like was said its just a few screws and then the dashpad basically falls right off, and it only takes a few minutes. Took me like 20 minutes my first time because I didn't want to break stuff, after that it was cake though.
