Regal_GS_1989
Alright, i got a question about steering wheel controls. The controls in my cutlass dont work at all. where would i start looking to find the problem with them? Also, would a bad turn signal switch cause them to not work? I know that you have to pull the lever toward you slightly for the signals to work. The car has a factory CD player and Electronic climate control. turby
The turn signals and contacts for the radio controls are both in the TSS. BUT they are seperate from each other so it could be totally unrelated. Could be the contact ring under the steering wheel, the contacts on the TSS, the controls themselves or the little box under the dash. Do the heater controls work on the wheel? THe_DeTAiL3R
FWIW it IS possible to put a non-radio button switch in a radio-button column on a ~88 GP. I know cause I did this.
Regal_GS_1989
moving to audio Thanks for moving it. i wasnt' sure if i should put it in here or not cause it also involved the climate controls. FWIW it IS possible to put a non-radio button switch in a radio-button column on a ~88 GP. I know cause I did this. Im pretty sure that the signal switch is the right one. There is a wiring harness from the horn pad that is plugged into the signal switch. Neither of my regals have had any of the typical W-body Bullshit. Keep any thoughts comming, and i'll just have to play with it once i get the time.
Brian P
it probably is the cancel cam that has the four contacts. Either it's gummed up or fried.
TheEddie
I know that you have to pull the lever toward you slightly for the signals to work. Yay! Reminds me of my 96 GP SE...to hell with turn signals, just use your hand!
