ToroToro Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 Indeed. I've got a few things I'm thinking of doing, but I'm not sure yet. Need to get at least one totally stripped first, which is quite the ass pain. Quote

ToroToro Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 The car in the garage is a '66 442 I've been restoring for the past 10 years. I dont think I have ever posted pictures here, but I will soon... End of day one progress. It's getting there, but these damn slots are taking forever. Hopefully I'll have one done in a couple days... Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Progress has been made! Looks good so far, cant wait to see finished product!! Have you noticed though, that most of not all sawblades are pitted in those "slots" with mostly brake dust? Quote
jeremy Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 best of luck to you.....I was going to do that to my old 5spokes, but I gave up after one rim because it took forever to look decent.... Quote
ToroToro Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks for the encouragement, but I am definitley NOT polishing the whole things. I got that first rim pretty close, but I could never do three more. They will be unique when I am finished though, and I'm not saying anything more yet. As soon as I knock this cold, I can finish this one rim and do the other three. Quote
cutlass1991 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Yeah I started polishing my crosslaces a while ago.. They ended up in boxes and only one got finished. I think painting them might be the way to go. Quote

ToroToro Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 So how's this strike everyone? Notice something different with the centercap? Keep in mind that I need to do some more polishing on the unpainted part, as it got messed up in the masking process... Vote in the pole on which color I should do the rocket in, bright red, or silver...I cant decide at the moment. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Besides for only showing about half the rim... Look great!!! Although the rocket NEEDS to be bright red. silver just wont do anything. Quote
Crazy K Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 I agree. the rocket NEEDS to be bright red. Quote
ToroToro Posted March 26, 2006 Author Report Posted March 26, 2006 Hmmm, showed up teh whole thing for me... I added a different pic with the tire cleaned up, maybe it'll work better. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 with that color scheme, there's no way it should be anything other than red IMHO. Quote
