z284pwr Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Does anyone have the part number for the Rear brake distribution valve? The number on Chris' TPS Garage site *18015258* doesn't show up on GMPartsDirect. I put it into PartsAmerica's page they showed it and we ordered it but they can't get it either? ACDelco doesn't even show the number on their site either? ACDelco did show this part as it 18M875, it says its right but PartsAmerica wants $186 for it. Thats a lot of mula on a "hope" it is right? Quote
mihela816 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I was under the impression that the rear proportioning valves were built into the master cylinder. Quote
z284pwr Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 I was under the impression that the rear proportioning valves were built into the master cylinder. As taken from his site... http://www.tpsgarage.com/TGP/brakes/powermaster.htm Rear Proportioning Valve Rear Proportioning Valve. This one leaks. Only '89 and '90 w-bodies with abs have this. Part number GM 18015258 All others (88-95ish) even with ABS (91-95ish) don't have it since they use a dual-diagonal setup; there will only be a connection between the front and rear lines here. Proportioning on these units is done internally in the master cylinder. Quote
Robby1870 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Hmm....I definitely learned something by reading this. I thought all Ws were internally proportioned. http://www.rockauto.com has the valve for $141. Still alot of cash. Might be something where you try a junkyard valve first before spending the cash on a new one. Quote
mihela816 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 That would explain to price, only used on 3 cars for 2 years. Quote
