DaveFromColorado Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 so as you all know, I'm gonna be doin' my HG's soon - but I'm curious about something ... I'm figuring while I'm in there, I might do the timing chain too - so here's my question ... what's all involved in removing the balance shaft ... I don't need the long version ... just the quick version ... here's how I see it... either A) Pull the timing set, remove gear from balance shaft - put new timing set on (leaving the non-functioning balance shaft in place) or remove the timing set, balance shaft, balance bottom end, put it all back together without the balance shaft at all. if it's A ... then I'll do it - but if it's any more complicated then A, I'll skip it for now. --Dave.
