95 BLKDOUT Drop Top
The front head gasket on my 3100 in my cutlass is leakin on the driver side. I really wanna do a 3400 swap or maybe an L27 or L67 swap but i dont have the cash for that, im a college student. I just need a second opinion on which route to take on this. These are my options: Pull the 3100 out take it apart and rebuild it, Take the 3100 out replace with another 3100, Take the 3100 out replace with COST EFFECTIVE but bigger engine. Keep in mind like any other sports car enthusiest i want more power. If there are any other options let me know.
slick
It will cost you more to rebuild your 3100 and take more time to do it than it would to buy and drop a 3400 in there. They can be had for $500, and can be done in a weekend.
GP1138
:? Rebuild the engine for a headgasket leak? I'd just regasket and flush the cooling system, and call it a day. Your intake gaskets could probably use replacement as well, and the entire job can be done within a couple of days for less than $300. If you really don't have that much cash and time, I'd go for that.
