i guess this can go here...

so the other day i had my airbox completely out to try and figure out what i can do if anything to open it up and avoid a FWI or a CAI but increase airflow to my engine... amd holy shit i couldnt find anything i could remove or modify in the stock box to increase airflow... there is literally no room to expand anything in there... damnit wherever the "tube" isnt there is something else under it or beside it... guess i start lookin for a FWI in the spring...

any ideas for a decenty priced package to do this ot would i be better off getting some tubing from the hardware store and fabbing one my self?

Here's some ideas, courtesy of Impala HQ:

I'd say every one of these mods should work on the Monte, except the "Front Grille" intake might be a stretch, seeing as the Monte doesn't have much for a grille opening...

yeah that 3400 airbox is like a Tool chest its soo big.

whenever it gets nice again, im going to dig deeper into a ramair setup for mine using the stock airbox. I already found a place for the tubing to go, just now have to actually do it 8)

i looked at taking the "tube " out of the airbox to open it up a little more but i couldnt get it to come out at all

it is loose in there = i can wiggle it and it rotates slightly but i couldnt get it to pop out

When we had my buddy's stock airbox on his '97 GTP, we just HAD to gut it. It involved smashing it with a hammer until basically nothing was left of the "PCM holder" side.
