Guest TurboSedan Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 i ruined a 4 month old AC Delco spark plug wire while changing spark plugs today it separated while pulling it off the plug. no way am i buying another set of AC Delco plug wires. where can i buy Magnecor wires online? i know i need part# 6540 but i'm not sure where to get them. i did a search and found that Invasion1 bought his from ultrarev.com but i can't seem to find the 6540 set on their website. TIA...i need to buy a set ASAP. i'm already missing work tonight because of this :x Quote

Guest TurboSedan Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 AH HA! kick ass thanks Dan. i'll be ordering these tonight. on the bright side i managed to get the car running by using one of the OLD ass crappy wires from my TSTE. unfortunately i already threw all of the spark plug wires from the front bank away (on my TSTE) since they were trashed. sooo...i had to use a LONG wire from cylinder #1 on the TSTE in place of the AC Delco wire that i fucked up which was on cylinder #6 on the Cutlass. so yeah...it's just a bit too long oh well it works and i'll be able to make it to work tonight. hopefully these Magnecor wires will come in soon! 95oldsVan Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I ran those wires on my 86 Corvette and they were a waste of money...had a few that burned holes through the sleeves.Didnt see any gains at all.All they did was look nice and had the numbers on them for each cylinder. In fact with my 91 Lumina, about 4 years ago I bought spark plug wires from walmart, used them with new delco plugs for a tune up and theyre still going strong.Engine starts as soon a I hit the key and still runs strong. This car was my beater driver and the no name brand shit is still going and didnt have the high cost of the magnacores. Ive tried many different wire brands over the years and so far the walmart brand is by far the longest lasting ones I ever put on a car...thought it was hilarious.Maybe I got lucky.... Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 i had Magnecore KV-85s on my GTS....i'm sold on them fantastic quality IMO. Quote

Guest TurboSedan Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 just wanted to say i got my 2nd wire set tonight this set came directly from Magnecor. strangely enough the set i just got has black boots whereas the set i got from Ultrarev last week has red boots (both sets are pn# 6540). i would have preferred both sets to have black boots but no biggie. anyways, i am happy with Ultrarev and would definately recommend them. these wires are way nicer than OEM. 94CutlassXtreme Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 would these wires fit the 3100 in my 94 Cutty? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 no, the 3100 has coilpacks in a different location than the 2.8/3.1 so the wires would be a different length. Quote
